I am the founder of Lateral Line and a full-time med student at the University of Mississippi Medical Center. My goal with this website is to report accurately on all kinds of scientific news, and I have a great deal of passion for science and scientific reporting. I am diligent and proactive when it comes to news reporting and intend to build up Lateral Line to one of the premier science publications.
I am a registered midwife and a passionate science reporter with a particular interest in biology and nutrition. I have lived in Mississippi for most of my life and have extensive writing experience, having previously worked as an editor for Hattiesburg American. I now contribute part-time to Lateral Line and spend much of my time reading science journals.
I worked as a hydrogeologist for most of my life before retiring to spend more time with my wife and two daughters. Today I have numerous hobbies that keep me active, one of which is writing for this publication. I have extensive knowledge in chemistry and geology and wrote many papers during my working life.
